I was so excited to wear these OTK boots, since I haven't worn them since last winter and don't get to wear them much in Florida. This dress from H&M is so comfortable and the color is everything! I always pick a color during a major season change and this is it ladies and gents! Not to mention this dress was like $25 at H & M. It's not online anymore, but I saw it in the store yesterday. Also comes in pink and a navy blue.
So let's talk about something we all have our mind on this holiday season…gaining weight. All of the parties and the goodies and the "oh, I'll go on a diet after new years, my new years resolution". Well how about there is no weight to lose in the new year, that's what I'm talking about! It's happened too many times and I really hate starting off the new year with my pants not fitting, LOL. Here are my tips for avoiding the holiday pounds.
1. Drink a lot of water throughout the day and drink a little extra before hitting a party, so you fill up on a calorie free drink. I'm constantly drinking water and it really does help keep me full between meals and keeps me from over-eating. Also, if you have a dinner or party and you know you will be eating heavy that night then eat light during the day, like a salad or chicken and veggies.
2. Go for the veggie tray! When your going for h'dourves, try to eat the raw veggies first before hitting all of the carbs and desserts. Oh and save the desserts for last and limit yourself to one or two. I know it's hard not to go straight for the cupcakes and brownies, especially when they're decorated for Christmas. But go for that last and fill up on the veggies and protein first.
3. Don't stop working out. Trying to choose between going to the gym and another holiday party after work. Of course you're going to choose the holiday party, I'm with you girl! A great way to keep a workout in during the holidays is walking around the mall. Just do a few laps around the mall while you're already there shopping. Walking is such good exercise and it's a lot harder than it sounds. It's a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
Disclaimer - I'm definitely not a nutritionist or health expert, but these are the tips I follow and work for me. Hope this helps!!
